Heavy sinking deep minnow
D-Direct
This heavy sinking deep minnow is designed to directly attack dead zones over 1m deep from drop-offs that have never been reached before. It sinks with its 6g weight, and its huge lip forces it to rapidly dive to unknown areas in one go. When reeled in, the small wobbling and rolling vibrations make the lure's presence known, directly inviting trout lurking in the depths.
Development background of the need for D-DIRECT |
Regardless of the season, there are always good-sized fish in large pools. However, when it comes to deep pools over 2m, the difficulty of catching fish increases dramatically. After one or two casts, you may see a flash of light, but it is a phenomenon near the bottom, much deeper than the lure. After that, they become more and more tired, and you probably give up after about the 10th cast.
During these 10 or so casts, you may try changing the casting position, changing the color and lure, and of course, reeling in a spoon to trace the bottom, but you still can't catch anything. As
for me, when I come across such a large pool, I cast a few times with a D-contact to target fish that react in the upper layer, and then quickly aim to fish in the upstream current. This is because I didn't feel like I was catching much. However, as
mentioned above, there are always good-sized fish in large pools. Furthermore, in the early season, they are probably only there. I want to do something about it. After all, catching this pool and the deep area was a challenge for me.

1. Where are the fish? (Figure 1)
The upper layer near the drop has a strong current, but if it is deep, the current calms down considerably at depths of 1m or more. If you go 3m downstream from the drop, the bottom area seems to be a very comfortable place for fish to live. Large fish, especially those that are very cautious, understand that the upper layer of waves acts as a curtain, making it the perfect place to protect themselves from diving birds.

2. Where is the lure tracing? (Figure 2)
A spoon seems to sink with a stone, but it sinks while fluttering and drifting unexpectedly. A normal deep diver lure reaches its maximum depth by reeling quite close to the shore. The D-CONTACT can trace 10 to 30 cm below the water, which is lower than a normal sinking minnow.

3. Dead Zone (Figure 3)
As shown in Figure 2, if you trace far above the fish's location range or reach the location range behind the fish, you cannot expect a bite. The shaded area contains a dead zone that cannot be captured by conventional lures.

How to use D-DIRECT |
1. Reaching unknown depths
When it falls after hitting the water, it sinks tail first with the lip facing up. It takes 3 seconds to sink 1m (depending on conditions such as current strength and line thickness). It reaches the bottom much faster than a normal sinking minnow. This is due to its weight of 6g, built into a volume smaller than the D-CONTACT, and its sinking posture due to the fixed center of gravity at the rear.
After hitting the water, lower the tip and reel quickly. The lip, which seems huge compared to the 55mm body, forces it to rapidly dive. Reeling 3m will reach a depth of 2m.

2. Get the bait with "inertial slide"
Wob and roll by reeling, staggering slide action by twitching. The fluttering dart action by powerful high-speed short jerks with the rod upright is highly appealing. The "inertial slide" that occurs between actions invites a bite. It has an excellent ability to avoid fluttering when it comes into contact with bottom stones, etc., allowing for aggressive fishing.

3. Range control and tips:
D-DIRECT will continue to dive as far as you can as long as you keep applying water pressure to the lip. The same goes for twitching and jerking. If you want to trace a depth of 1m, add some action with the rod when you think it has reached a depth of about 1m by falling or reeling. If you add a strong and long action at this time, it will gradually go deeper than 1m. If you add a weak and short action, it will gradually swim up.
This is the trick, and if you can make it act gently and deceptively, range control is OK. The different holograms create a different sparkle, and the silent weight is a detailed design to increase the appeal and fishing power of D-CONTACT.
