Rockfish that feed on transparent or small bait such as whitebait, plankton, and shrimp are particularly selective and difficult to catch. Solid body plugs are effective in such situations. Compared to general hollow body plugs, they have very little diffuse reflection, and have a transparent and unique texture that will make even selective rockfish bite.
Although it is a plug, it has a joint structure that creates a seductive action like a worm. When retrieved slowly, it naturally invites fish with a swaying wobbling action, and when retrieved quickly, it appeals to fish with a fast S-shaped action.
The no-sinker design allows for slow fall/retrieval. In addition to slow retrieval just below the surface, it can be used for a variety of lures, including lift and fall on the surface/shallows, and a bobbing action with reduced travel distance.
The solid body is filled with resin and has no air chambers, giving it a refractive index close to that of bait such as whitebait, and its natural blending with the water makes it extremely effective at attracting fish.
The hook acts as a weight to maintain balance, and there is no sinker inside the body. Because its specific gravity is close to that of water, it can be used slowly during the fall or retrieval just below the surface, creating a natural floating sensation like a lightweight jig head + worm. You can also make the most of the transparency of the body.
