KEY FEATURE

Revolutionary X-guide touch-free titanium. Supports stress-free, trouble-free high-level casting.

X-Guide's new Touch-Free Titanium is a guide system created to achieve higher levels of casting performance. The high foot design keeps the line away from the blank, suppressing the contact between the line and the blank that frequently occurred with conventional large-diameter, low-frame guides. The guide aperture is also optimized to match the newly designed guide frame. It reduces line disturbance when releasing the line, the resulting loss of flight distance, and damage to the line itself. Of course, by avoiding problems such as air knots and line damage as much as possible, the frequency of reassembling the line system is reduced, and the risk of losing opportunities is also reduced. It increases the chances of catching and catching a big fish. You can feel the silky, smooth casting feeling with just one cast. With the X-Guide Touch-Free Titanium, casting is once again on the path to stress-free fishing.

What causes problems with conventional guide designs?

This video shows the blank touch of the line that occurs when casting. Especially when offshore casting, a thick leader is often used in comparison to the main PE line, which can easily cause a gap in the speed of the line released when casting. When this happens, the light PE line tries to move ahead of the leader in front, causing slack in the PE line. This leads to blank touch and line trouble, which can damage the PE line.

The effect of high frame and optimized ring size. Pursuit of the ideal guide.

The newly adopted X-guide touch-free titanium has a high frame shape that prevents the line from touching the blank and flapping when casting, and also optimizes the ring size. Until now, large diameter rings and low frame guides were used to suppress blank touch. On the other hand, X-guide touch-free titanium has succeeded in significantly suppressing blank touch by adopting a high frame. The ring size is sufficient for the height of the frame. The ring diameter has been downsized compared to the conventional model, but it is by no means excessively small. In pursuit of the optimal ring size derived from testing, it achieves both high line release performance and prevents line trouble. It also contributes to improving flight distance and reducing line damage (fuzzing).

The true value of X-Guide Touch Free Titanium. Blank touch is greatly reduced.

There is very little fluttering immediately after it is released from the reel, and you can see that the high frame guide creates a distance between the blank and the guide so that the blank does not touch the guide.

This effect realizes unprecedented trouble-free performance in offshore casting where repeated casting is required. It is strong even in adverse conditions such as crosswinds and tailwinds, and provides anglers with benefits such as preventing fraying and reducing damage in any situation, as well as increasing the casting distance of lures.

Distinctive individuality. The lineup also includes unequal length 3-piece models that pursue the ideal balance.

While the main focus of development of a typical 3-piece model is portability, the Ocea Plugger Full Throttle adopts an innovative unequal length 3-piece design in pursuit of convenience, ideal balance, and further performance improvement. By deliberately shortening the tip #1 of the 3 sections, we have achieved a balance that is not too soft and not too dull. This makes it easier to grasp the timing of release, and leads to improved cast accuracy, operability, and responsiveness. The models used are the versatile all-rounder S83M and S83MH, and the power game compatible S83H and S82XH, for a total of 4 items. We hope you will experience the fusion of high basic performance and outstanding individuality in any scene.

IMPRESSIONImpressions

The appearance of the 3-piece model is a big deal. It really makes long-distance fishing trips easier. It's a big help.

Kenzaburo Fukui

The Ocea Plugger Full Throttle has been redesigned. It's a full model change, including the 2-piece model, but for me, the big thing is the introduction of the 3-piece model. I think it will be great news for people who go on long trips.

It's not just that the previous Full Throttle has become a three-piece rod. It has plenty of butt power, and when you stand the rod up, it lifts the fish firmly. It feels even easier to lift than the previous model. The tip is also flexible, making it easier to make the lure move. It bends well, and there's nothing dangerous about fighting it. There's no need to worry about it being a three-piece rod like in the past. The ingenuity of changing the length of the pieces to get the best rod action has paid off. It's very light and crisp. The new guides are also good. I haven't had any trouble using it. It's well made. The line system is easy to pull out, so the lure flies nicely.

I went to Christmas Island with prototype models of the S83MH-3, S83H-3, and S82XH-3. I caught about 20 fish offshore and 10 fish on shore, and I felt that each item was well made.

A three-piece rod will change the way you think about packing for fishing expeditions. Just by having a three-piece rod, you can pack much more efficiently. I make my own case that can hold three rods, 30 lures, and three or four reels, and it's very convenient to have my entire tackle set in one case. The weight is also within 20kg, so there is no excess fee. It will make fishing expeditions lighter and more convenient.

I'm often asked which item I recommend, but the answer is quite difficult. Ultimately, it depends on the preference, physique, strength, and power of each angler. For example, if I were to recommend an average man aiming for GT in Tokara, I would recommend the H model. But it has quite a bit of repulsive power. I hope you will choose one that you can use well, taking into consideration your own strength.

I caught a 27.5kg yellowtail with the prototype model. I trusted it and was able to go for it with all my might.

Seiichiro Tashiro

Speaking of the Ocea Plugger Full Throttle, it's already a masterpiece. I've caught many yellowtail over 20kg with it. Now this masterpiece has been remodeled. I'm excited about it. My overall impression is that it's sharper and more nimble. It's lighter to hold and swing. When casting for yellowtail, you spend most of your day casting. I think it will reduce the strain on your body considerably.

Although not as strong as the Limited, the repulsion is strong. I would say it is a high-repulsion blank. The Limited may be a bit selective in terms of the user, but the Full Throttle bends and rebounds well, so I think anyone can use it. It has a sufficient flight distance. It also bends and returns well when fighting, so it lifts up the fish. The lure is also highly maneuverable.

Also noteworthy is the new X-guide touch-free titanium guide. This guide is really good. The line release is very good. There is almost no flapping sound when the line hits the blank. The line is released very smoothly. Being able to cast comfortably and smoothly is important mentally. I think the guide also reduces line wear. I think it gives you confidence that even if you are fighting a large fish, you can tighten the drag, bend the rod, and win.

During a spring fishing trip, I was able to catch a 27.5kg yellowtail using the prototype S83H. It was a tough fish, shaking its head and stabbing repeatedly, but the rod's repulsive force lifted it up powerfully. I wasn't worried that the line was worn down or damaged, so I was able to give it my all.

I was impressed by how rods like this can be created by combining the information, experience, and knowledge of engineers, anglers, and captains. I believe rods will continue to evolve. Among them, the Ocea Plugger Full Throttle series can be said to be one of the most cutting-edge items for casting yellowtail kingfish at the moment.

FEATUREFeatures

Screw Lock Joint

A specially processed joint that increases the fixing strength of the joint while also making it easy to remove. When you twist the rod to connect it, it tightens like a screw, increasing the fixing strength and making it difficult to come loose. When you want to remove it, twist it in the opposite direction to release the fixation.

V Hold Front Grip

The cross section of the front grip is V-shaped to increase the grip strength when gripping the rod. This reduces the load during power fights and allows for stable handling.

X-Guide Touch Free Titanium

In offshore fishing, line troubles when using PE lines, such as tangled guides and air knots, have become a major problem. The X-Guide Touch Free Titanium was developed to solve this problem, and is Shimano's original guide that was completed by pursuing the appropriate balance between the expected reel number and guide height. The optimization by reviewing the caliber and the high frame design suppress the flapping of the line when casting, contributing to a good casting feel and improved casting distance. In addition, the reduction in contact between the line and the blank also suppresses the deterioration of the strength of the line itself. By improving the trouble-free performance, the risk of losing opportunities is reduced, creating a more comfortable offshore game.

Double wrapping specifications

Each guide is double wrapped for durability, allowing for repeated full casts and powerful rod bending fights.

Guide cover included

For the large guides that pursue touchless blanks, a dedicated guide cover is included to prevent damage from accidental falls or impacts during transportation. It also prevents damage to both sides due to contact between the guide and other objects when packing for an expedition. All of this is for peace of mind when fishing. The guide cover can be attached and removed even with the line threaded through the guide.
