By attaching the split ring to your preferred position, you can use it either inward or outward. Choose a length that does not interfere with the front and back hooks when attached to the front and back of the jig.
If there are many bites with the up jerk, make the front longer, and in places with a lot of snagging, make the rear longer to reduce snagging.
