It's exhilarating to shake it off!

The SALTIST TW PE SP is designed for trouble-free use by specializing in PE bait casting in saltwater.
Even anglers who have been reluctant to use PE lines on baitcasting reels can now cast them with confidence. This is made possible by the "TWS" with extremely high line release and the "PE-only spool" with a PE-only setting that has significantly improved the line winding condition.
Furthermore, the basic performance has been refined with the "HYPERDRIVE DESIGN" to handle a wide range of saltwater situations.
Available in BF/80/100/150/300/400 sizes, it can handle a wider range of fish species in the saltwater. The new standard for SW baitcasting reels for users who want to enjoy PE baitcasting and those who want PE compatibility.

*Saltwater compatible

Daiwa Technology

HYPERDRIVE DESIGN
The next-generation design concept for baitcasting (double-axis) reels, which significantly improves the standard of all basic performance with the aim of maintaining high initial performance for a long time. The Hyper Drive design is composed of up to four technologies. The Hyper Drive Digigear, which maintains smooth rotation for a long time, is a prerequisite, and the Hyper Double Support assists the gear drive to provide strong and light winding. The Hyper Armed Housing strongly supports the internal structure and is resistant to bending and distortion. The Hyper Tough Clutch with an insulating structure continues to operate even in harsh locations and drastically reduces adhesion due to salt. The synergistic effect of these technologies continues to provide stable performance in any field.
HYPERDRIVE DIGIGEAR
A newly designed gear system that pursues sustained strong and smooth rotation. This is DAIWA's unique technology that achieves an increased meshing rate without reducing the module (size) of the gear teeth, which directly affects durability, allowing the initial smoothness to be maintained for a long time.
HYPER DOUBLE SUPPORT
A drive support system that achieves sustained smoothness and strong, light winding. Both ends of the pinion gear are supported with two ball bearings with high precision, which makes it possible to wind up powerfully and lightly even under load without attenuating the input from the handle.
*Only 300 and 400.
HYPER ARMED HOUSING (AL)
The housing system firmly supports the internal structure with high rigidity and precision, producing a precise winding feel and power. The use of metal materials for the frame, which is the essential requirement, is a prerequisite, and in combination with the side plate and set plate, it makes it possible to continue to exert basic performance for a longer period of time.
This series uses aluminum alloy for the frame and gear side plate, resulting in a tough housing specification.
HYPER TOUGH CLUTCH
Not only does this clutch system have crisp on/off performance that continues to slide thousands or tens of thousands of times, but it also has extremely few problems even in seawater with high salinity. Its cutting-edge insulation structure has already led to a 99% reduction in the number of repairs due to sticking in harsh salt environments compared to our previous models.
TWS (T-WING SYSTEM)
TWS has succeeded in significantly reducing the resistance of the line guide close to the spool where the spool rotation speed is the highest. By reducing the resistance to the casting distance, not only is the casting distance and controllability improved, but the fall is also faster and backlash is reduced. This has realized the possibility of a new level wind not only when winding, but also when casting.
SV-Concept
Super versatile concept:
Trouble-free for all situations and lures. Super versatile brake concept that can handle all lures, light, medium and heavy, at any distance, close, medium and long distance. There is a wide range of rods and lures that can be combined, making it suitable for lure fishing for many species of fish, both in saltwater and freshwater.
*SV80 only
BF-Concept
Easy setting allows you to cast "ultra" lightweight lures freely
. Ideal for ultra-lightweight lures. If you swing the rod sharply while pitching, the lure will fly with a low trajectory and achieve a flying distance that is comparable to that of a spinning reel even with normal casting. Another major feature of the "Daiwa BF" is that you can alternate between pitching and casting without readjusting the brake force.
*BF only.
LC-Concept
The brake concept has excellent long-distance casting performance and an exhilarating casting feel
, realizing an extension in the latter half of the cast. It is especially suited to medium and heavy lures, and the sharper you swing the rod, the longer the casting distance will be. The sporty and exhilarating casting feel is also a major attraction of the LC concept.
*Only 100, 150, 300, and 400.
MAGFORCE Z
Variable inductor rotor that creates "an extra stretch" in the latter half of the
castMagforce Z has a variable structure in which the inductor rotor slides according to the rotation speed of the spool and the resulting centrifugal force, which varies in strength. In the first half of the cast, when the rotation speed increases, the inductor rotor penetrates deep into the magnetic field, generating a strong braking force and avoiding backlash. In the second half of the cast, when the rotation speed decreases, the inductor rotor returns to its original position (exits the magnetic field) as the centrifugal force weakens, and the braking force weakens, resulting in increased casting distance.
*Only 100, 150, and 300.
MAGFORCE
Fixed Inductor Rotor, the origin of DAIWA's perfected non-contact electromagnetic induction brakes
MAGFORCE is the simplest structure among the non-contact electromagnetic induction brakes that DAIWA has been developing since 1982. This brake system utilizes the law of electromagnetic induction, where eddy currents are generated when the inductor rotor rotates in a magnetic field, and a force acts in the opposite direction to the rotation. The inductor rotor is fixed, and the brake force adjusted by the dial is always stable and effective. This is an advantage of the system, and it is installed on some reels.
*Only 400.
ATD
The ATD operates smoothly and keeps working smoothly in response to the pull of the fish. It pursues smooth start and tracking, allowing you to concentrate on the fight without worrying about the drag setting.
*Only 100, 150, 300, and 400.
UTD (Ultimate Tournament Drag)
This is Daiwa's drag system that eliminates the initial bite when the drag first starts to work, achieving a smooth drag without any sticking (unevenness), while also providing maximum drag power the more you tighten it.
*BF and SV80 only.

■PE dedicated spool
Line trouble with baitcasting reels comes with the risk of line breakage. One of the causes of this trouble is the state of the line winding. With a normal spool shape, there is a step on both ends of the spool, which makes line release unstable. The SALTIST series PE-only spool uses a new spool shape that assumes the use of PE. The curved parts of the bottom and sides of the spool are almost vertical, which greatly improves the state of the line winding. This has realized a trouble-free spool that has never been seen before.
*PE-only spool: Since the setting is perfected with PE lines, nylon and fluoro lines, which have a large stretch of the line and damage the strength of the spool, cannot be used.
*The vertical shape of the bottom and sides of the spool is not adopted for the 400 size because it is assumed to be used with thicker lines and higher loads. (The 400 size is also a PE-only spool.)
■High speed level wind
Troubles caused by loosely wound lines are especially noticeable when using PE lines.
High-speed level winding dramatically reduces these problems.
As a result, it significantly reduces the trouble of the upper line digging into the lower line on the winding surface, resulting in comfortable fishing performance.
■ Drag pull click
When the line is pulled out during a fight with a fish, a clicking sound is generated so that the drag can be heard.
Being able to hear the drag operation is a great advantage for anglers when fighting
with the line tension at its limit. This is an essential feature, especially when fishing with thin PE line.
