Jigging for yellowfin tuna and tong tuna has become more commonplace, and it is now possible to target fish in the 50kg class in coastal jigging. When fighting large fish, what is required of a reel is not only line capacity, but also a reliable drag. The lever drag system used in the Ocea Jigger LD has many advantages, such as making it easy to produce high drag values and allowing instant and accurate drag adjustments, but on the other hand, it has a weakness in that the handle rotation becomes heavier as the drag force is increased. To minimize this disadvantage, the Ocea Jigger LD is equipped with Infinity Drive on the lever drag. By using a newly developed double drag structure with two drag washers, we have succeeded in producing high drag force with low thrust. We have achieved a rotation torque that is up to 30% lighter than conventional reels of the same size. This light rotation, which is close to the star drag system, is the advantage of the Ocea Jigger LD. If you compare it with a conventional lever drag, you will immediately feel the difference. The maximum drag force of the Ocea Jigger LD is 20kg. This means the drag force at the FULL position when the preset is tightened to the maximum within the range where the spool is free. In addition, the high-durability drag is less susceptible to heat damage than the star drag, and reduces the drop in drag force by about 25% compared to the Ocea Jigger 2000 under certain conditions. It is easy to maintain a stable drag force even when dealing with large fish that overwork the drag, supporting a safe fight.

The OCEA JIGGER LD, which uses a lever drag system, achieves a maximum drag force of 20kg, despite its body size approaching that of the OCEA JIGGER 2000. It also exceeds the OCEA JIGGER 4000's 18kg, the largest Shimano jigging reel with a star drag system. The premise is to "reducing weight while maintaining rigidity and durability." For example, the drive gear has been lightened by 12g, and the handle knob has been enlarged by 12% (※) to improve operability, while the weight has been maintained by making the insert aluminum and adopting a hollow structure. In addition, following the design philosophy common to the Ocea Jigger series, the palming has been improved with a compact feel that fits comfortably in the palm of the hand, embodying a frame shape that is easy to grip and thumb. In addition, the handle is a 105mm special design that is tailored to the use of the Jigger LD, adopting a high-rigidity cold-forged handle common to the Ocea Jigger, which does not lose force and allows for light winding. Combined with the handle knob shape, which has an exquisite angle that makes it easier to apply force, it creates a comfortable jigging experience.

The Ocea Jigger LD can be customized to suit the angler's experience and the characteristics of the target fish.
